About Lord DJ Stief

The photo realistic works created by DJ capture the sensuality of the human form.  This challenging subject is protrayed by the artists in a variety of medium: Oils French Pastel and German White Charcoal.

DB Magazine has described him as being able to "mimic the realist function of the camera and offer a depth of textural eroticism not even the hottest spread in Black and White Magazine could summon up......Stief's careful play of light and shadow communicates the same sense of seaminess in society which early noir works did of 1950s America.

His commissions are diverse and encompass landscape, portraiture and historical pieces.  He has been internationally recognised with  his work in private collections on six continents.

Stief has also embraced the Steampunk genre, creating many pieces and accoutrements, which exhibit his technical and imaginative talents.

From 2005 to 2013 DJ was manager of Artemis of Aberdeen, the first private gallery in the Upper Hunter Region of New South Wales.  Whilst continuing with his own painting, he selected Artist's to exhibit at the gallery and organised the hanging and display of the works - as well as the catering.

His success with the catering led to the creation of a restaurant, where he transferred his creativity to food.
